It is recommend by China BRG bearings that NSK self-aligning ball bearings are suitable when it comes to alignment of the shaft and housing is difficult and the shaft may flex.

By virtue of its internal geometry, NSK self-aligning ball bearings are capable of accommodating small angular misalignments between the shaft and housing. This is achieved by using two rows of balls that run in parallel inner ring raceways and a full width, spherical outer ring raceway. However, caution must be exercised when thrust loads have to be accommodated as these bearings have very little axial load carrying capacity.

Since the contact angle is small, the axial load capacity is low. The permissible dynamic misalignment is approximately 0.07 to 0.12 radian (4 to 7 degrees) under no rmal loads. However, depending on the surrounding structure, such an angle may not be possible

Timken Four row cylindrical roller bearing supports heavy radial load, but incapable of supporting axial force, with small radial size and high limit speed. Self-Aligning bearings allow for misalignment of the shaft and housing.  They are manufactured with two rows of balls and one continuous spherical raceway in the outer ring. Mast Guide bearings have a high load capacity and are specifically designed for use in fork lift trucks.

Tapered Roller Bearings

NSK Tapered roller bearings are designed to take combined heavy radial loads and heavy radial thrust loads in one direction while operating at moderate speeds.  Both metric and inch tapers are offered with the only difference being the dimensions of the measure for the bearings.

NSK’s patented HR High Capacity metric tapers offer additional capacity within the same boundary dimensions and are interchangeable with standard metric tapered roller bearings.
