SKF double row ball bearings are available in A-type (conrad construction) and E-type (maximum capacity with filling notch). Conrad-type bearings feature a 30 degree contact angle. The 30 degree angle allows fo r greater axial loads than competitive bearings with lower contact angles. Fo r SKF double row ball bearings with an A, AH, E o r M suffix, the contact angles converge outside of the bearing fo r increased resistance to misalignment. Conrad-type double row ball bearings can take heavy radial load and axial loads equally in either direction.

SKF double row ball bearings are very suitable for bearing arrangements where the load carrying capacity of a single row bearing is inadequate. Fo r the same outside and bore diameters, double row bearings are slightly wider than single row bearings but have considerably higher load carrying capacity than single row bearings in the 62 and 63 series.
