The Timken Company announced today that it secured a $3.8 million contract for bearings from Masteel, one of the largest iron and steel producers in China.

Masteel awarded this contract to Timken based on its previous experience using Timken tapered roller bearings in a separate application.

The order is for large-bore Timken™ tapered and spherical roller bearings for application in the rougher and finisher of Masteel’s hot-strip rolling mill.

A row tapered roller have positive roll that ensures alignment true rolling motion and creates a “force of seats” which pushes the roll against the large cone coast. This force seats prevents bias rolls off the summit, which would favourably located and aligned against the large cone coast.

TS (Pressed Steel) is the most basic and most widely used type of tapered roller bearing.  It consists of two main separable parts: the inner race assembly and the outer race.  It is typically mounted in opposing pairs on a shaft. TS (Pin Type) design increases the load-carrying capacity of TS bearings by removing cage bridges (leaving more room for rollers) and featuring longer rollers.

TDI bearings have one piece double inner and outer single and two races are generally provided with a spacer race outside as a pre-set assembly. The bearing can be used in fixed positions on the shaft rotation. Housing to run the application, it can be used for floating on the tree in the parking lot. TDI bearings are sometimes used on rotational axis applications where a loose fit is necessary in order to facilitate its removal.

TNA bearings are similar to the TDO, but the inner ring close faces are extended to abut and eliminate the need for an inner ring spacer. Comes with a built-in permission to give a normative, these bearings provide a solution for many fixed or floating bearing applications where simplicity of installation is necessary.

Four-line timken bearings provide maximum capacity in minimum space, combining the qualifications high radial load capacity or thrust and direct / indirect variables assembling tapered roller bearings. 

Their main application is the deployment on the neck of rolling mill equipment. The four rows bearings are supplied as pre-assembled series matched with all elements identified to ensure proper installation sequence.

TQO bearings are mounted directly and composed of two races domestic double, two singles and a double external course, with a spacer inner and outer race two spacers.

The slots in the inner ring spacer permit movement of lubricant and scope of room for the deployment of the neck. The inner ring spacers are strengthened in order to minimize wear face.

TQOW bearings are similar to TQO bearings. When the net and / or filling rings do not have slotting lubrication, they are provided on the face of the inner harbour of the race.
